With the Terrace out for vengeance, Dungog's ladies travelled to Lakeside Sporting Complex on Saturday, June 15.
A slow and lacklustre start to the game saw Raymond Terrace in control and their constant pressure and a tiring Dungog defence saw the Magpies take an early lead, scoring next to the post and converting the try.
The wet weather and a muddy field saw both sides struggle to maintain control of the ball.
However, after a number of successful sets, Dungog's Rebecca O'Reilly ran onto a short ball from Mia Henderson and scored on the wing.
With a failed conversion the teams went into the sheds at half time with Raymond Terrace leading 6-4.
Dungog's ladies regrouped at the break and took to the field with a renewed sense of vigour.
As Dungog's Beth Marshall and Brooke Legetti took control of the play, Emily Foster managed to find a gap and streak down the wing to find Claudia Wilkinson who managed to take the ball over the line and score Dungog's second try.
This gave Dungog the lead, eight points to six.
After Dungog took the lead Raymond Terrace came back aggressively.
Dungog struggled to hold back their attack, however, thanks to the excellent communication and tagging ability of Isabella Grainger, Tamiah Palermo, Emma Scrivens and Crystal Hicks, Dungog managed to hold them out.
They were able to turn defence into attack and Dungog's back line found the room to manoeuvre the ball and found Amelia Morris.
Using fancy footwork and ball skills, Morris managed to split Raymond Terrace's defence, race around the fullback and sped over the tryline just outside of the goal posts.
Dungog's first successful conversion of the match by Palermo saw Dungog take the lead in the final minutes of the game, 14 points to six.
Palermo took home the players' player award while Emma Scrivens got the coach's award.
After Dungog managed to hold off Raymond Terrace for the second week in a row, they remained in third place on the ladder, chasing Shortland in second place and Raymond Terrace in first.
Now the Dungog ladies are preparing to take on Glendale at Bennett Park.
Kick off is set for 12.45pm on Sunday, June 23.
